UPDATES

Friday 13th December 2013:

Today, the group managed to get the Polls, Script and Shot lists up on our blogs.
We are planning to start a small part of our filming during christmas break .
Josh managed to get the polls done before Dom and I could finish the script and shot lists.
Josh is going to star again in our opening sequence along with Dom who will be disguised however, 2 other actors will be seen in our opening sequence.
Dom was in charge of doing the Script but at first, he was in charge of the polls, but Josh didn't read through the storyboard properly which resulted in him asking us what happens in which scene, which meant switching the roles around.
I was in charge of the shot lists, because I mainly control the camera which meant I had to do the shot list and revise all the shots that will be in each scene.
No arguments unlike the Prelim Task.

Today, we updated our storyboard after analysing the storyboard poll, the task which our teacher set. We updated our storyboard which means that a few alterations will have to made here and there to the 'Opening Sequence Task: Todorov'. I was re-doing the storyboard due to the lack of pages that our first storyboard as well to neating it up. The storyboard now looks cleaner and much more easier to read so, we've learnt something from the Storyboard Polls.
The only problem that we faced when re-writing out the storyboard was the last few scenes from Shot 13 to 15 where our minds went blank and decided on a new ending, however, it still ends the same but it's changed in some ways, adding more camera angles and shots.
Again, No arguments unlike the prelim, although I feel that Josh needed to participate a little bit when helping me re-write the storyboard as it did feel like it was just myself doing the storyboard.

In today's lesson, the group worked out a filming schedule for our opneing sequence, although we have no recognition of what time and when to film, we will figure this out. Dom and I are up to date with our blogs, our task was to include more detail within our Todorov theory, which we have now done.
Filming WILL start next week. Josh had no input in todays lesson and was not as helpful.

This week has been entirely stressful however, on tuesday we managed to film one part of our clip after some complications with the filming schedule which I produced.
On tuesday, it was a good run of filming! Throughout the week we've managed to do the film title and the production page which will be in our opening sequences.

This week, it's been mostly me and Dom's goal to finish the first draft of our editing for the deadline which was today. We managed to include the sound, clips, edits, text, production logo and the logo itself as the opening sequences. I came up with the idea to extend our 1minute and 14 second opening sequence which I then introduced the idea to Dom who agreed to the idea. Josh was also involved in the discussion afterwards and he too agreed. Josh didn't put as much effort in this week with editing at all, which did cause many disagreements between Josh and I.
However, in today's lesson, we were shown a video from previous media students who have shot a psychological thriller sequence, where they have used various text transitions and music and so on... edits which could influence us to include within our opening sequence.

Target by the 14th February:
  • Film last scene to extend on the duration of our opening sequencE.
  • Create a more intense atmosphere when watching our opening sequence- this would be done by video transitions such as a quick flash from one frame to another.
  • Make the title of each credit roles look more dynamic.
