CHANGES: opening sequence

When filming our planned opening sequence, we thought it would exceed the maximum duration of 2 minutes, however as we were filming, we thought we have managed to achieve this, the case was that when we were doing our storyboard, we did not fill in the time limit on each frame, which caused us as a group to figure out in the editing process.
Our editing went really well, until we reached the ending of what we thought was our opening sequence until we see the duration of it which was 1:15 - as we discussed this with our teachers, we felt that this was too short for an opening sequence and try to exceed possibly 15 seconds more into the opening sequence making our goal to 1:30 at least.
Last week on the 7/02/14, my group and I verbally discussed a new scene which would hopefully bring our opening sequence to 1:30 (goals which is listed in the 'UPDATES'). Our new scene was a combine of a morbid atmosphere which resembled what the title EXCLUSION really means, after researching further into what our new scene would be based, we based it on Human Sacrifice for a religion. The props (Pictures below) was handmade to resemble an old religious ceremony which would be written in latin to then highlight EXCLUSION which would give the viewer a clue to what the rest of the film would be about: Human Sacrifice > Religion > Excluding an innocent etc...

These two images show what our new scene is basically about.
I decided myself that it would be more intense and spine-chilling if the prop (being the book) was written in latin.

The latin in the book translated to english:
To cleanse my soul, I must sacrifice another to be accepted to the heavens door. Exclusion will be my evolution in civilisation.
The afterlife will accept me for cleansing not only my soul but the soul of an innocent.

I will not sin, I will only please the man above. I will sacrifice this human being as essence of acceptance.

EXCLUSION WILL BE MY CLEANSER, EXCLUSION WILL BE MY SAVOUR AND EXCLUSION WILL BE MY ACCEPTANCE.

Our new scene however, is not a full sequence, they are short frames which was spontaneously planned.

Filming the new scene was difficult, I will admit that because it was verbally discussed and we didn't have a specific plan, but we did manage to get it done and once we added that into the editing stage, it did bump our sequence to 1:25, BUT it's still coming together.

What we have learned was that the timing area of the storyboard is vital !

FURTHER INFORMATION: WHAT IS
THE EXCLUSION?

Basically, our title 'The Exclusion' means one person excluding another's life for a particular reason, and our particular reason for the meaning 'Exclusion' is religious. We've based our opening sequence on Human Sacrifice as a cleanser for the antagonist, hence the latin phrases which we have used as apart of a religious sacrifice bible (being the book- pictures above).
One scene which is approximately 0.53/1.26 in, has an incidental music playing which I think contrasts the concept of Exclusion, I feel that it creates a sound which shows that the character is losing his innocence meaning his life, which then contrasts onto the next scene which shows a final memory of the innocent because the music itself sounds innocent and light.

I think that our opening sequence went well, although the new scene was added in at last minute.
However, I think that the last scene really does highlight what I mean with our definition of THE EXCLUSION.
